I just drove my 2004 F-150 Heritage (64k miles) from Las Vegas to Portland, with the bed fully loaded with my wife's books.

The first time I started it after the 21-hour drive was over, I noticed a distinct squealing sound coming from under the hood. The best description I can make is it sounded like a chimp laughing.

What'd I kill? And would it be covered by the extended warranty?

I was at a stop light and started to proceed when the car started sputtering as I hit the gas. the car then cut off. i started it back up and i drove for about 30-50 feet and it started sputtering again and it cut off again. It will start but will not stay on for more than 2-3 minutes. Would this be the fuel pump or something else?

I know this question has been asked a million times on here, and I have read the answers.
But Im confused-
I have a 2000 Eclipse GT. I just removed the EGR Valve and the vacuum hose from the top of it and brought it in the house. It's sitting right next to me but I'm not sure what to do.
I've read several answers that said to "spray it with carb cleaner", but if i do that, what about the insides that wont get cleaned from simply spraying it?
a toothbrush cant get to them.
What about the little tiny metal pipe that the vaccum line plugs into? Shouldn't that be cleaned out too?
Should I soak it ENTIRELY in gasoline? in something else?
Another answer said to "make sure I dont get carb cleaner on the diaphragm"
What's the deal with this?
Does that mean I SHOULDNT soak it?
Also, a guy at AutoZone said to blow through the pipe at the top and if it opens then it's clean enough?
[i cant get ANY air through at the moment..]

any of these questions that you can answer will save my life!

I have a friend that needs a radiator hose replaced, and in buying a new one we discovered he does not have the regular engine in it that comes with the car. Is there some way to identify this engine? (We are going to bring in the hose and say we need THIS replaced but that still does not tell us what engine it is)

I have a 77 toyota celica that has'nt had an oil change since who knows when. I have been told a couple times that if a car has'nt had an oil change in a long time and you do change it it could mess up the engine. I know it may seem odd but it has happened on a previous celica I had. Any thoughts?

the light just stays on. Also my battery light stays on too.

How many miles do you get on your last gallon of gas?

Is it true if I let my car run empty on gas and can add problems to the engine? Just wondering because I never fill my car up, its to expensive and I always wait to the last drop to get gas :)

Do you?

was going down the road and felt as if lost power or cut off gave it a little pat on the throttle and it did fine after about 2 miles it shut down and would not start again. I can hear the fuel pump come on and the sparkplug has a spark between the wire and plug. What could be the problem?

Let me explain what i did , i removed the 1800, and installed a 2000 , the engine came compleet with wire harnest , and computer , no the problem are inside the car only one connection will not connect as one have 13 wires and the other have 7 wires .Under the hood also one conection can't connect , as 5 wires and 3 wires , to fix the problem under the hood i know i will need to replace the fuse realay box . But the problem in the care where 13 wire and 7 wires that is stop , as i do not want to burn the computer by trying to find out which gave power to the computer , so wright now when i turn the key the dash lit up but the enging doesn't turn , all lights work &horn.

Hi My 2001 Camry stopped picking up speed from a standstill, and also blows out a lot of (BLUE) smoke when initialy started. A NIGHTMARE TO MERGE ON TO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC (NOt enough acceleration)

I GOT A TUNEUP (replaced air filter engine plugs.. etc) AND HAD THE TIME BELT CHANGED, BUT NO DIFFERENCE

MANY PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THAT IT IS DUE TO ENGINE SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE!!! BUT WHEN I SAY I PUT OIL AT REULAR INTERVAL THEY GET CONFUSED...

NOW MY QUESTION::::

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS IF YOU HAVE ENGINE SLUDGE, AND DOES IT CAUSE VERY SLOW ACCELERATION???
HOW DOES ONE EITER REMOVE OR CLEAN ENGINE SLUDGE??? (ANY GOOD PRODUCTS!!!)

THANKS 4 YOUR REPLIES AND HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY !!

I bought a good condition 1992 Honda Prelude 2.3 L auto 2 years ago. I'm very unsatisfy with the brake, because it is soft.

My expectation is that it should perform like brand new car, where a gentle press is sufficient.

Few of my mechanics suggest to rotate/polish the discs, check leaks, brake fluid issue, leak brake hose, bad brake pad. So in 2 years, I done the following, but no improvement

1) Top up brake fluid
2) Replaced all 4 brake pad with sport performance ceramic compound
3) Ensure brake hose no leakage
4) Ensure brake caliper and related parts function
5) Rotate/polish all 4 brake discs
6) Replaced front rotors with sport performance ventilated slot discs

None of these make the brake respond any better. I still have to push the brake hard to react like new car, which only need to press gently.

Front sport slot disc does make front wheel to lock better during hard brake.

Mechanics are thinking I'm asking too much, but I believe they miss something

I bought the bike and the owner said the bike had sat for a couple of years. I was able to drive it home but it did surge on and off as the cylinders would fire and not fire. I assumed bad gas.... I filled it with good gas and drove it. When I turned the bike off I noticed a bubbling sound from inside the carbs, especially at the top end, and at the exhaust valves. I decided to clean the carbs because I believed that old gummed up gas was stuck in the cabs boiling when it was running... First off, does that sound like a reasonable assumption? My carb cleaning question is, I removed the float boal and jets but still can't get a good flow of carb cleaner up into the carbs. I don't want to have to get the carbs synchronized so I don't want to take them completely apart. I'm I missing something? Any tips? Thanks
