I questioned whether there was a way to keep a car from rusting anymore than it already is.

and found a post on yahoo answers saying:

"Stop it with RustSeal made by KBS Coatings. It's a super tough nonporous coating that permanently seals metal pores and blocks all access to water & oxygen. Unbelievable stuff! I've used it.
Source(s):
Hemmings Motor News

Is this just shamless self promotion or are there really products that can stop and even prevent further rust?

My car has been sporadically getting hot...I found no steam, or drips, in the beginning, but now, I must fill the water collant all the time. There is water drips in the center midlle under the engine. However my air conditioner also drips. which makes things confusing to me.

I have heard different opinions from different mechanics, one said it could be the water pump, the other says it could be a blown gasket. How do I know the difference, the pump is cheap, the gasket job would be about $2000! Neither mechanic could "find" where it was coming from !?!

I don't want to waste my money fixing the wrong thing! How do I find out for sure if it is a water pump or a blown gasket.

Is it worth fixing at this time?

I need help here!

Brakes on Subaru Forester make a squeal sound. Was told this is because the brake pads are metallic and metallic pads will "squeal" as they get hot.

Car just was in for inspection and brakes were fine and passed inspection.

Doesn't make the sound all the time, but no pattern to the noise (sometimes will squeal when real hot out, sometimes will not, etc.).

Seems to make noise mainly on Passenger side of vehicle.

Any info would be appreciated!

Hello, I have a 96' mitsubishi eclipse, and recently it started to make this squieking noise when i turn left or right. It seems to be coming from the steering wheel. Also it became much harder to turn the steering wheel. Please help, people who know stuff about cars. What could this problem be? Solution? If I'll have to fix anything how much will it cost me?

Thanks everyone.

I have a 1998 ford mondeo 2.5 V6 ghia. it is overheating, there is no signs to indicate a head gasket, (oil in water, water in oil etc) but it still boils the water, running into the red. this is even on very light journeys (couple of miles if that) we took out the thermostat, didn't work. then we replaced the radiator as the old one had some blockages, still no joy. any other segestions? Thanks.

The A/C compressor broke in my car about a few months ago and it's going to cost me about $500-$600 to buy a new one then another $80-$100 to put it in my car. This is way too much money but at the same time it's so hot here in AZ..(temps. 104-115). Do any of you know any alternatives I can do to keep myself cool while driving while I save up enough to buy the compressor?

I ran an errand early this morning and my car started fine and sounded fine.

Later, I started my car again and it's making this weird weed wacker rumbling vibration sound when the engine revs up as I drive. Another analogy is it sounds like a lawn mower. The "weedwacker" noise gets very loud as I go up in rpms and I don't even have to go full throttle to hear that sound. The engines got merely 70,000 miles on it and I've had it for 2 years. I can't figure it out because I have no experience with cars.

Is it a busted cynlinder or belt somewhere? I have no idea, but it's freaking me out.

I involved an car accident. My car's value is about $3000-4000 before that accident. Because of insurence's policy, the most I can get is $500. The front of the car is damaged, including hook, front bump, coolant( so far I know, engine is ok.)
What do you think the fixing charge?
If the charge is too high(how high?), what should i deal with my car to get the least loss?
