I would have an oil change and have the tires checked and make sure they are properly inflated . also get a 2nd opinion and ask the mechanic if it is okay for a long road trip . good luck and happy traveling .

Dear Leak-

I can truely say that I respect you for being cautious.

It entirely depends on where the leaks are and how severe they are. However, the axle leak is the one that concerns me the most.

This is a potentially dangerous situation and you should consider having this repaired before your trip. With the summer months now in full swing and the outside tempratures climbing, this could be a potential hazard for you.

If the leakage is near your brakes, this could create a brake failure and cause an accident due to the vehicle being unable to stop. Oil on brakes does what oil does best, "Lubricate."

Having lubricated brakes is not really a good thing, if understand my meaning. Especially if you are going to be heading into the mountains. Long flat land trips are not quite as taxing on the cars systems, but a long strip on the Desert can be just as painful.

I would strongly recommend that you have the leaks repaired before you enter your trip. If eveything else on your vehicle is fine, then fixing the leaks is just cheap insurance that these will not be the "Glitch in your trip."

Good Luck!

The size of the leaks is what is important. Call the mechanic that checked it and ask if it's safe for a trip.

Make sure your tires are good and inflated properly. Check the oil every time you stop.

good luck!

Maybe take it to someone else for a second opinion - tell them you want a quote.
