my truck will crank but will not stay running..i have a couple of wires out of order is that whats causing it to die?

this is on a 85 chevy c-10 silverado. it has a edelbrock 650 carb. and a Accel hi performance coil

Usually, but not always. I have a Mistubishi that actually has the wires in a slightly different order. Best bet is to get a service manual and make certain.

Or, even better is if you're replacing the wires, do them one at a time. That way you put them back in the right place.

yeah otherwise your engine will not run right or probably even start. you also need to check the rotation of your distrubitor to make sure you put the wires correctly . get a repair manual and that will give you all the info you need

Yes, in a clockwise driection. follow each plug wire out to the plug to insure proper firing order, do not cross wire the plugs.
