I own a 1999 Honda Civic EX and I hate popping my hood and looking at a dirty engine. Would cleaning it give me more power and how could I clean it without damaging any parts?

The fuel tank on my rc car seems to have a leakage. The tank is made out of plastic- so i dont think heat is an issue. But the problem is will methanol/nitromethane mix react with silicone and make the leak even worst?

I have a Chevy Cobalt 2005, it is an automatic
Recently, I have noticed that sometimes it will shift gears very abuptly, causing the car to leap forward during acceleration.

What could be causing this, could i have prevented it, and would it be covered by a standard powertrain warranty.

Sorry, I do not have too much details to give, but I don't have alot of car knowledge.

I have done all the required maintenance and oil changes, and at the last one I asked the mechanice. and he couldn't give me an answer!!

Thanks for your help!!

All of my cars are AT, as we all know it moves when shift to DRIVE without even stepping on the gas. On that state, is it consuming fuel? Do you think I can save gas by shifting to NEUTRAL (instead on DRIVE and stepping on the break while on a stop)?

my girlfriend's accord is covered with light scratches that can't be felt when you run your fingernail across the surface. they arent deep at all, but you can definitely notice them. the scratches are all over the car in small patches here and there. the damage was done using a kitchen soap sponge (rough side)

seeing as the scratches are light, they should be able to be buffed out. where can i take her car to be serviced? and how much will it cost approximately???

im thinking that paying for buffing out scratches is cheaper than repainting the entire car.

I have put high grade fuel in, tried oil additive. Considering a complete oil flush and put synthetic oil in there. How long will my car last with this ticking noise? What should I do about this? Mechanic told me to slap a $1000 sticker on and said it would last a couple weeks. My dad told me that his father had a similar noise on his old cavalier and it lasted 3 years. Any suggestions? 1989 Buick Regal Auto Tranny 112000 K V6 2.8L Thanks all!

Few days ago my car started acting weird as if it was running out of fuel when I accelerate. It hesitates from time to time at any speed. Also, the engine light was on. So, because it was close, I went to Kwik Kar Auto service to get it checked, and they told me that cylinder 7 misfire was the cause. I was told that I need to replace Spark Plug and ignition boots. They gave me service estimate at $120 labor fees and $101 parts fees. First of all, could cylinder 7 misfire be the cause of the problem I am having on my car? Second, If thats the cause,is it right to replace the Spark Plug and ignition boots? Finally, are the fees, both labor and parts, market price?

I have a 2000 Explorer. I just replaced the battery and it starts fine but as soon as I start it, it stalls. My brother noticed whitish smoke coming from the exhaust. Does this mean a blown head gasket? My Dad tells me this is about an $800 job. Thanks for any advice.

i drive a 4runner and i accidentally put the wrong gas and i drove not the far either but then i started to notice that there was something wrong. i wasen't going fast when i pressed on the gas so i obviously pulled over to the curb so i pulled into a neighborhood and i called my friends dad and he helped me. he put in more gas because he said that was the only thing that he could do. but later on i put in more gas (i didn't use the 4runner, i used my moms car). by doing that, will that dilute the diesal in my car?

Well here's the deal, my mom got a car, 2006 about 1 month ago, it allready needs service, need oil change, new breaks, new filters and it needs to repair the lock on the door, the keyhole to start the car and the dealer wont cover anything of it, should i threathen legal action?

she bought extended warranty and it still is under the original waranty

since she bought it it only has taken 2000 miles from daily driving

as far as the filter and oil change, i know thats the owners respponsivility but should they had sold her a car with 75% good oil left and a crappy used filter?

and i think they SHOULD cover any repairs that arise

I am wondering, without an adapter. How do I hook up a 4 wire trailer wiring to a round 7 way plug for my truck (2007 F150 FX4)?
I know green is R/turn and yellow is L/turn. Brown is running lights and white is ground.
I hook these up to the round plug and all works good until I hit the breaks and all lights shut down. How do I fix this?
