can the part be defected or something else? 91 caviler the part looks square then to a point help i don;t no if this gut is telling me the truth.

You had me worried with that casket. Next thing I know you will bring out garlic and a wooden stake.

anyway..if it did not leak BEFORE the gasket was installed and you have the puddle afterwards, then I think you have nailed down the cause and effect pretty well.

First just check to see if the nuts were tightened up (dumb - right? But it is a real common mistake).

if they are tight and the leak is still there then its likely that you pinched or tore the gasket during the installation.

No the part was probably fine, but the installation was defective.

You can always buy a new one at Cosco....maybe even gaskets for your transmission too!

Yep, they sell caskets at Cosco.

gaskets need to be put in with the utmost care.If you break or tear the gasket you will get leakage.
