All of my cars are AT, as we all know it moves when shift to DRIVE without even stepping on the gas. On that state, is it consuming fuel? Do you think I can save gas by shifting to NEUTRAL (instead on DRIVE and stepping on the break while on a stop)?

When engine is running, it is consuming fuel. As above if yu stop for a while turn motor off til you need it. Watching the consumption computer on my (manual) car even putting the air con on will increase fuel consumption whilst idling. When you shift from neutral to drive in your AT you make the torque converter work and the engine management system will add more fuel to maintain engine idle revs.

No, it will not be working but it will be idling faster. There is no savings. Now, if you are waiting for a train to pass, that is different. Put in park and turn the engine off.
