My Acura Legend 88's High Pressure Line is leaking. Acually the line itself gets moist and the oil drips to the top of my engine causing it to smoke as the oil gets burned. I am not planning to keep this car any longer but would need to use it for few more weeks. Is there a quick fix to the PS leak? I tried to wrap the hose with rubber but it still manage to leak.

Can I disable the Power Steering pump? If so how and is it safe if I do this?

Thanks!

Someone told me, while they were changing the oil in the car that the petroleum or whatever chemical is used, is bad to breath. So my question is, has it made any long term mechanics out there sick, or did it cause their health to go bad?

Can I just siphon out the fluid that's in there and fill it back with new brake fluid? VW wanted $90 to do it. Unless it's very complicated, I believe I can do it myself.

I drive an '02 Nissan Sentra GXE. I replaced the rear blinker bulbs with LEDs in hopes they would last much longer than incandescent bulbs, and now the blinker blinks quickly because the flasher thinks there's a burned-out bulb back there. I still have incandescent bulbs as blinkers/parking lights in the front, so when I replace those with LEDs, will the blinkers blink even more quickly, will they light up and stay lit, or will they not light at all? And while I'm on the topic, if someone removed the flasher, what, if anything, would happen when one turned on a blinker or the hazard lights? I think the same flasher operates both in this case.

When I purchased the car, there were times when it would not start, I had the neutral switch replaced, it still wouldn't start on every now and again, however I learned to put it in neutral and like magic it would turn over. As of last week my car has been sitting because the neutral trick is no longer working. Everything else in the car comes on, but when I turn the key I get absolutely nothing. How do I know if my starter should be replaced or the neutral switch?

I took my car to the garage this morning for a service and mot test and 10 minutes later I saw my car being diven around town by one of the mechanics he saw me and quickly took a short cut though some back streets and down an alley way, I phoned the garage but was told it was on a test drive to check wheel bearings I thought that would of been done on the ramp in the garage? And if this is normal why would the mechanic look so paniced and cut down backstreets and an alley way?

Installed new water pump on 90 Jeep. Noticed antifreeze around the edges of the pump. Took it off, replaced with new gasket and sealer, but it seams to be leaking again.

'97 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with just a hair over 100,000 miles that has a small (few drips underneath the car when she sits for awhile) coolent leak from passenger side of the car, just north of the passenger side tire. I do notice some moisture on the front on the water pump, but it is minimal. I just had the upper intake manifold and the coolent bypass elbow repalced (very typical coolent problems for this car) and the hoses are all less then 3 years old and they all seem to be (visually) okay. Bought car in '04 with a little over 60,000 miles on her and I havent replaced the water pump while I've owned it so I believe that may be the problem. Any way to know for sure? Any other things to check before I buy a pump? Any special tools required to do such a job yourself? I have done work on cars before ( brakes, timing gear and chain replacements, etc..) So I know basic repair how-to, just don't want to get in over my head with this one. Thanks!

car, close the door I hear a repeating clicking sound. It is similar to the sound you hear when you lock the doors using
the switch on the inside of the driver's door. Auto: Acura Legend LS 1994.

serious answer please. what is one to do when they had to repeatedly take there suv to the shop for the same problem that they broke. the first time I had to get a new gasket, thermostat put on. after picking my suv up from the mechanic drove it to work. that night the car would not start. they paid for a tow truck to pick my suv up. on the second day i picked my car up and immediately the anti lock and the awd disable light came on. I then took it right back. the third time I went and picked my suv up the mechanic informed me that the town truck driver damaged my sensor cable and that they had to replace it. But to my knowledge the sensor is located on the top left side of my suv. how could this be. that same night i drove to work and once again the same light came on again. I then took it back and the mechanic said to me I need to stop messing around with my truck. needless to say I was and still am very. pissed. every since then my suv does not perform well. is there a car lawyer

Was running low on gas. The next day - hard start up. I initially thought it was a fuel related blockage. The car loped and turned off. I added gas. No improvement. I have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, ignition coil, spark plugs, and throttle position sensor. No improvement. What else can I do? Where can I find a picture of vacuum hose setup? The diagram is not much help.

I bought a car this past October it's a used car. I've had trouble with it since I bought it and when I took it to the dealership to get fixed he barely did anything and the last time I took it he said he wouldn't look at it cause he didn't hear the noise I was telling him about. Now my car is not working and got towed to another shop they told me my engine may be shot and that it's been like that for a long time. I called the dealership about this and they won't return my calls. Anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Have an '02 Avalanche with a 5.3 V8 and out of the blue this is what it started doing. Driving along in town no problem and out of the blue it just shuts off at a red light. I turn the key over, let the fuel pump prime and it starts right up but won't stay running, you have to pump the gas and keep it at about 1600 rpm to keep it running and it sounds like it's not getting gas? I don't think it's the fuel pump though because after it starts doing this if you drive around for a little bit it will quit and is fine until you park and shut it off. I parked, shut it off and got out and went to hit the door lock button and the truck is dead. No power. I open the door and there is nothing, no ding, no lights, nothing. Then all of a sudden everything kicks back on. I turn it back over and it's fine, starts right up and stays running, check engine lights on, I test it and it says P0174 System Too Lean (Bank 2) whatever that means? Then it runs fine for a couple weeks and does it all over again?

I've recently put a new battery in it and when I put a charger on it to see if the alternator was shot, it still wouldn't turn over, it just clicks. Could this be the selanoid or starter?

89 Chrysler NY 3.0L Mitsubishi...........car in otherwise great shape..smoking though. I've been told it's valve stem seals...will replace in a month or two..in the meantime, smoking is horrible....I've been told that Restore doesn't work at all to cut down on smoking. How about synthetic oil? With combustion point so high in the engine, would synthetic oil burn and smoke less? Would it make a difference?
