I just put $3000 into a 1997 Pontiac Gramd-Am. Three tires are new. My steering wheel shakes a little and my car pulls to the right. I checked my left front tire - that is not new - and the outside edge of the tire is worn. Could this be the problem? I have no idea why my car, all of a sudden pulls to the right. Can anyone give me some ideas here of what is wrong before I spend more money. Is this a tire problem? Thank you. Happy 4th of July.

Woke this morning and there was white stuff smeared on my vehicles, I think lotion. Washed it off drove around the block to dry the car and it quit. Pulled the fuel filter thinking sugar in the gas tank. The gasoline I drained from the tank came out as a thick grey-milky semi liquid. I was also missing some soda pops out of an ice chest I keep in the back of my truck. I don't think water would do this, according to info found on the 'net sugar doesn't do this. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be???

I have a land rover freelander v6 es. The steering tends to go towards the left every time I let go of the steering wheel even in a flat even surface. the tire pressure is all the same. I've asked a friend who also owns a freelander and he said it also tends to go left with his vehicle also. What do you think is the problem and how much would you think it would cost to have it fix?

A few days ago, my 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4wd v6 suddenly just stopped moving while I was driving. Everything electrical was still running (stereo was still playing and the lights were on) but when I pressed the accelerator, the car stopped moving. I shut the car off and but I couldn't get it to start. Again, the whole electrical system works, I checked the battery, fuses, etc. The car had a tune up and the engine was recently checked. When opening the throttle to let air in while trying to start the car, I didn't smell any gas in the air so many here have suspected that it is the fuel pump that died. I already made sure I had gas in the system, but would it be safe for me to change that part myself? I've changed a bunch of engine, electrical, and exhaust parts myself on it, but because this has to do with gas i'm not sure what's most advisable? Also, does anyone else have a suggestion as to what else may be wrong with it and to check?

On my car the low coolent light keeps flashing, I have checked the fluids and they are fine. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it? I just had the fluids flushed out maybe six months ago, I replaced the head, and the car is not running hot. So I don't know what is wrong if anyone does I would appreciate it if you can tell me what to do. And should I be worried?

I purchased a car some weeks ago and was doing some work on the interior this morning when i came accross a bag stuffed down the back of the rear seat.

Upon opening it i found a ski mask a pair of leather gloves and a large quantity of cash,i have banked the cash already but just wanted to know how should i get rid of the mask and gloves and is there any chance whoever left it there can trace me to get the money back.

I am very concerned they will come round and try to get there money back.

when my wife went to the KIA dealership they wanted to charge her $400 for a timing belt install, told her it was also called a serpentine belt, but actually I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking. I thought most newer cars had only a serpentine belt these days. Is $400 the going rate on an import? Wouldn't a belt change be in most tune ups? sounds like the dealer is overcharging as always. Thanks.

I have a 96 chevy / geo prism. Front wheel drive, 4 cyl, 5 speed manual.
About 6 months ago, I let a friend, who owed me money replace the clutch. He did a piss poor job, and I had to take it to a mechanic. The mechanic told me that there were several bolts missing from the transmission and the motor mounts. He replaced the bolts, but it still had a rattle when sitting still out of gear. The rattle stops when the clutch is pressed.

Now I have lost all ability to smoothly take off in first and reverse. No matter how slow I let out on the clutch, or how low the RPM when I let out on the clutch, the whole front end jumps and shakes violently like it would if you popped the clutch without giving it gas. It dosen't go dead, but I expect to find parts on the ground after every launch.
Do I need a new clutch? a new car?
What causes this, and how do I fix it?

Am I looking at a rebuild or just a negligable amount of wear as Ford's F150 gears tear it to shreds? Im worried about it melting and gumming something up more than chipping any metal and am not confident that the transmission oil filter will be of any use.

I've had a couple of instances over the past month where my 1998 Honda Accord LX 4cylinder automatic shut down completely (while sitting at a redlight for instance). I would crank it back up and drive away like nothing happened. I'm driving today and it actually shut down twice while I'm doing 75 on the freeway. It did immediately regain itsself both times without me having to pull over (much like a speed chip would do). Then a few miles up the road I begin to smell that something is burning. Then I actually see smoke rising slowly from my steering column. Engine temp is fine. I immediately pulled over, turn the car off, let it cool down, then finished the rest of my trip a few miles up the road no problem. What is causing this? Other facts that may be factors; my car also makes a rattle when accelerating as if there may be a problem with the exhaust system. I have a slow oil leak. I just changed the oil. I just hit 150,000 miles.
