They vary widely even within the same year, make and model. Because the heads are all different.
They are cardboard looking with thin metal components.
Uhhh, bolts are steel.

They all differ. Each engine has a specific headgasket. If you use the incorrect gasket, you can get overheating concerns and/or no oil to the top of the engine. GET THE CORRECT PART!! Too much work to have to do it twice. The material is mostly the same from headgasket to headgasket. It is not the same material as say the thermostat gasket. It is put under a lot of pressure so it is made to take the pressure. No it is not the same material as the bolts.

Yes, fortunately, every motor and every head gasket in every car in the world is exactly the same. And the gaskets and every other part is all made out of bolt material.

As many differences as there are stars in the sky. Each engine size type and manufacture and patented gasket products. All are different even aftermarket gaskets vs manufacturer's are different. So when in doubt consult the dealership for correct gaskets and note you just don't reuse head bolts any more. Some are replaced when they stretch some cannot be reused at all. And torque spec plus angle very important. Aluminum heads and blocks cast iron heads and block mixed metal engines require different sealing characteristics.

Head gaskets can and are the same within car manufactures. However the majority of the time they are not. Head gaskets from manufacturer to manufacturer are never the same.
