Re-manufactured half shafts cost very near $60.00 each at Car-Quest, Advance Auto and Auto Zone. An independent mechanic would charge 1-2 hrs to do the job. Your would be looking at a total cost of $135. -$175. This variance is do to the fact old strut hardware can be miserable to remove pinch bolts without heat and hammers.

Depends on the mechanics labor rates. If you take it to a service center. In my area my ford dealership charges $37.50 a hour. They look at a book for there time of labor.

For your car they may say the labor time is 1.5 hrs for a cost of $56.25 wether it take the mechanic 45 mins that's what they will charge.

If you have a "shade tree mechanic" do it a good $50.00 will cover it.

Most shops will tell you 1 1/2 to 2 hours labor. Depending on the shops labor rate is what will give you the price.
