No but the next time is comes on take it to a place like Autozone where they will read the codes for free. A very common reason for a car of this age is oxygen sensors going bad.

could be several things. check your gas cap? go by auto-zone they will hook up engine tester to see what code is making light come on. and they will not charge you a thing.
