serious answer please. what is one to do when they had to repeatedly take there suv to the shop for the same problem that they broke. the first time I had to get a new gasket, thermostat put on. after picking my suv up from the mechanic drove it to work. that night the car would not start. they paid for a tow truck to pick my suv up. on the second day i picked my car up and immediately the anti lock and the awd disable light came on. I then took it right back. the third time I went and picked my suv up the mechanic informed me that the town truck driver damaged my sensor cable and that they had to replace it. But to my knowledge the sensor is located on the top left side of my suv. how could this be. that same night i drove to work and once again the same light came on again. I then took it back and the mechanic said to me I need to stop messing around with my truck. needless to say I was and still am very. pissed. every since then my suv does not perform well. is there a car lawyer

i dont blame you really id be a little pissed also,i think you need a different mechanic, that one sounds like he,s taking advantage of you,or thinks your a fool, that gives good mechanics a real bad name, but its up to you what action you take against him or the shop,i would demand he repair it,and get it back to the way it was,and never do business with that shop again, that's about the only way to handle anything like this really its up to you,but i would never go back to them again, good luck, hope this helps

Probably would have to go through small claims court...have the mechanic show you what sensor wire was damaged--- some are by the wheel and could possibly get caught on towing equipment. Only option is to take it to another good shop and have them check out what the problem is, whether it's from normal wear and tear or looks to be damaged from negligence and give you an estimate on repairs---document everything and take the estimate to the first shop to see if they'll handle the problem themselves or will reimburse you to have it fixed. Make sure the second shop can verify what is damaged. Sounds like just a series of error's and maybe just bad timing---try to be patient and diplomatic and just stress you want to be fair and have the truck fixed right. If the tow truck driver is at fault, they should pay for the repairs---they usually have insurance to cover cases like this.

Most shade tree mechanics would say don`t bother with the repair. If you like pouring money into thin air then believe the story of unhooking lights and ignoring it and so on. The fact is that most Auto Zones And Discount auto stores will check this problem for no money. All they ask is if you decide to repair it buy the part from them. Most check engine lights are in general simple to repair. There are some occasions when you will need to seek professional help.If you have a friend that has a few tools and some knowledge of autos this person could get the part and install it just that simple. So don`t be scared to ask and seek advise before repairs are done there is never a stupid question when it comes to cars.If it is a repair you can`t handle call around and get price quote.Good luck

First I would talk to the shop and tell them that there is still a problem and you would like them to solve it by taking it to a shop you have selected and have them pay for the repair. If they refuse I would then seek the advise of a lawyer. I would also keep track of all receipts from the work that has been done. there are too many problems that have started to happen after a simple thermostat change. keep in mind you need to be able to prove that the shop created the problem. but likely the lawyer will let you know if you have a good case.

Firsty ... check with the beter busnes buearo see if the mechanic has been reported for the same... secondly are you with AAA if so they have legal teams...
Thirdly You have reciepts for work done by this mechanic i assume.. If so get an independent auto inspection.... if this show that they haven done the origional job or that tampering is evident... then take it to small claims court to get your money back and a little extra... for inconviece... its about all you can do.. I had similar thing ...cut my losses took car to a different Mechanic... and low and behold car was great ...
Its actually difficult to prove they have been "damaging " your SUV ... you may just be best goin gto a different mechanic...

car lawyer not sure but you can look in your phone book yellow pages and check there think most lawyer's take a case like this you will have to call them and ask.. but it sound a little fishy that all that happened in less then a week if i were you i would find a new mechanic and when you do show them the paper's you got on what part's the mechanic has all ready put and have them look and see if they are new.

I AM NOT A LAWYER ....but the lemon law states that if the SAME thing is fix three consecutive times then you are entitled to a new car. after experiencing so many problems i highly recommend you contact corporate headquarters and inform them of your problem. provide as much info as possible including invoices and ppl you have dealt at the dealership. you should not experience all these issues.

hope this isnt your regular mechanic.first off stop going to this guy!the customer /mechanic relationship is over.find a new guy that you can trust.explain the problem and have him check the problem.unfortunatley youll probably have to take the first guy to small claims.you could try giving him the bill once your car is fixed but probably wont help.good luck

I think you better keep all your documents and take them to court.
If the damage was small you could just break his window and feel better but now you need your beloved money back.
