my girlfriend's accord is covered with light scratches that can't be felt when you run your fingernail across the surface. they arent deep at all, but you can definitely notice them. the scratches are all over the car in small patches here and there. the damage was done using a kitchen soap sponge (rough side)

seeing as the scratches are light, they should be able to be buffed out. where can i take her car to be serviced? and how much will it cost approximately???

im thinking that paying for buffing out scratches is cheaper than repainting the entire car.

Contact detailing shops in your area. if you get several estimates, you'll get a good price range.

First, I would try waxing the car with a good cleaner wax, you may be able to remove the scratches by yourself. good luck.

whatever the hourly rate X the time to do it. Save yourself some $. Go to your friendly automotive store (or even Wal-mart) and get some wax/polish that covers scratches(it even comes color-coded) Rent a buffer and do it yourself. OR get some very, very fine rubbing compound (same places), rent a buffer or do it by hand. Then apply a good polish. Only problem=you'll end up doing the entire car. However you shouldn't have more than $30 invested depending on buffer rental. Professional services (depending where you live) could run hundreds (and you won't have the use of the car while it's in the shop). Carnuba and Mother's are 2 names that come to mind

If the scratches aren't that deep- you MIGHT be able to "overcoat" them with a "scratch-remover" product, they sell in most auto-body stores. You just pick the one that comes CLOSEST to matching the cars paint job, follow the instructions- and see how it looks. Like you said, it's a LOT cheaper- than repainting the whole car!!! Good luck.

I think you should repaint the car and get a new paintjob the same color you got it. It would look nice definitley, but if the car paint doesn't have chipped parts of scraped off badly i think you could be able to buff it out, at a low price.
