It still against the law 2 tint ur front (dash) window. The 1's on the back & rear window (if the car is a 4 doors) is ok 2 tint them very dark if u like (depending on which State u live) BUT the 1's on the front..they have 2 b 65 to 70% "dark" (NOT limo black) otherwise b advise that u will b stop n harrass by the cops n not 2 mention fined 2... The law about tinted windows in NYC will change soon due 2 a cop being shot from the rear windows/doors this past Summer.

I think there is in Texas, but, as "aerocentral01" says, legal or not, it's somewhat stupid to do so since you need to see out that windshield at night. I know there's some question about tinting the front two door windows here in Texas, or seems to be, but I got mine tinted as dark as legally allowable even though my wife didn't get her front windows tinted at all because of what the dealer told her (but I think he's wrong since I've driven mine around for 5 years and not once have the police stopped me, and my son-in-law is a police officer and I had a very good friend who was a Texas Highway Patrolman who lived directly across the street from me and I went over to his place in both of my cars, tinted windows and all, on numerous occasions, and he never said anything about it.). But tinting your windshield sounds mighty dumb to me, safety issues considered here. God Bless you.

some states have laws some do not ...... the tint on the windshield needs to to very light 'cause at night it gets darker
>>>> if you use a limo black on the side windows the front gets darker --- but all that dark makes you open the side window at nite to see oncoming traffic --- as to the laws thing part of your question --- "" IN WHAT state is the ride registered ???? """

Yes, there is. Check with your state DMV for laws as they vary, but no state will allow front windshield tinting, and some don't allow front side windows either.

I know in Indiana, you CAN tint front windshield but it is not to exceed no more than 6 inches from the top and no more than 15% light transparency.

Yes, most states outlaw tinting any major portion. It's also stupid -- you have to see through it at night, too.
