I was at the EZ lube comming to ask them about a weird crunchy sound coming from the engine of my Volkswagen GTI and he told me that there was no oil in the reservior. It got me thinking, how does oil run out?, and where does it go?
Please dont answer unless you know this!

It's an older car (84) and i've tried staples and spray-on glue. i can't afford to replace it and the stuff underneath comes off in tiny grains when there's airflow (can't be good to inhale!). Anyone have any luck actually getting their back up? It's halfway down and i can't see out the back; it's smacking my head while i'm sitting and driving me crazy!

A friend of mine was picking up gas to use for a lawnmower. As she was leaving the gas station, a car pulled out in front of her and caused her to stop suddenly...no one got hurt and there was no damages, however the gas can fell over and caused gas to spill inside the vehicle. I am looking for any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the overwhelming odor...Thanks!

Ok, i recently picked up a Crx HF build from someone. There has already been extensive customization done to it, one of which being that the original engine has been removed and now there is an Integra motor in there, an LS version. Now also important to know is that i have a 3" cold air intake pipe (might only be 2 3/4" i'm not 100% sure) and because of the way that the front end is, it would be capable of picking up lots of rain/wetness and if that creeps all the way up the pipe i can be facing some hydrolock. Since i dont want this to happen, i've been told i need a "cold air intake bypass vavle" or "cold air intake bypass filter" or something to that effect. My question is do i need to get one of these filters for a crx make or an integra make? does it make a difference? i just don't wanna get the wrong part, and i need to know what fits!!! ok, thank you!!!

Rather than me buying something from a garage is there any alternative i can use to protect the leather in my Peugoet 206cc?
Someone at work today told me to mix some Lenor and water together and rub this over the seats and then dry it with a soft cloth. Will this work? any help will be appreciated, want to keep the leather looking in its tip top condition.

I have a 2000 Sunfire, at first it sounds like something in the trunk (I had a stroller in there) is thumping. But now it's empty, and still have the noise. Around 55mph is fine though. It shakes the car kinda too, like when you're driving down a highway and you've got all those regular 'bumps' in the road at regular intervals. But it's definitely my car with a problem. Any idea what it could be?

The speedometer on my imported MX5 is slighly jerky and therefore not very useful in telling me the correct speed. The speedo has been converted to MPH by the previous owner. Do I need to change the speedo cable, or does the speedo head need replacing? Or is it something else? My other dials seem ok. Any help gratefully recieved!

In other words...will a vehicle get better gas mileage after it has been driven x number of miles? Or is that simply something of the past....or was it ever something more than urban legend?

I have a 12 year old explorer XL. I've done everything I can to keep it looking brand new, and it does accept for a few plastic parts who's paint is wearing off and fading. Is there any way to re-chrome the plastic trim around the grill and headlights? Is it just a matter of taking them off, sanding/steelwooling then repainting them?

Also is there anything I can do to revitalize the exterior faded black parts between the side windows and around the back corners? A chemical that I can wipe on, or a way to remove them so I can repaint them? I foolishly tried ArmorAll on them and it just makes a mess.
