My 2001 S10 Blazer while when idleing is causing my car to run rough, like it is ideling low and ready to stall out, also jumping. The service engine light is flashing which according to my manual means "MISFIRE". My mechanic has changed out plugs and wires, then tried changing out the ignition coil, changed out a censor and still running awful. It acts like it doesnt want to get gas through it when I try to take off, then its like the gas kicks in and goes , runs great at higher speed, only acts up when I stop for lights or starting the car while still in park. Before my mechanic keeps up his trial and error at my expense, does anyone know what is going on?

In your experience, have you found aftermarket gaskets (head, valve, crankshaft, camshaft, oil pain, transmission, transfer case, differential, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, etc.) to be of the same quality as that purchased from the dealer?

The Check Transmission Indicator comes on and the O/D OFF light flashes after about 5 miles at highway speed. The Over Drive is still working and the transmission seems to be shifting fine. Fluid level is OK. I shut off the engine for 5 seconds and when I turn it back on, the indicator light is off. Any ideas?

i mean seriously i never put air in my old car since i got it, and i had it for a year. never checked the pressure and stuff.

so do i go to the gas station and fill it up? So i think i unscrew that little thingy, some how fit the air giving machine into the hole. and maybe press a button or something. i've never seen the air giving machine before.

but the question is. how do i know when i stop? how do i know when it's full. how do i know if i'm not going over... when i fill up helium ballons i just wait till it stops by itself, when it's all full to the max.

can i do that with tires? teach me please. daddy taught me to hunt, make love, but he wasn't around to teach me about cars.

some questions about tires. i'm always self concious about my tires, if it's unaligned or not after running over small things... or if my tires have enough air or pressure or whatever. i know very little about cars. i'm gonna take a basic auto class soon, but i need your advices.

so does the tires lose pressure by itself? i live in california where it's hot. so what am i supose to do? how do i take care of tires? when do i check? how do i check? and how often do you guys do stuff to ur tires? like fill up the pressure? or with air. i don't get it. at all. education me.

I had someone repair my car at his home in Garden Grove, CA, he said he has applied for licensing and this is his "shop". HE TOTALLY ripped me off with the repairs, they weren't done properly & argued constantly w/ his mechanic. They were supposed to finish the job (I took my car home after 6 days of this bs with the generator light on just to get it out of there) he told me to order the parts to finish it, I did, Sat. I get a call later in the day on my cell that he and his mechanic are fighting & that mechanic won't be doing it at all. Next day I get a call and he tells me that he doesn't owe me any thing and will only fix 1 item, he did not give me a written estimate before hand and wanted me to sign in 2 places an invoice that also stated he gave me an estimate, of course this is all after I paid him (just to get the car away from him). I refused & now I know he is endangering a disabled person by doing a conversion on his car, this man & mechanics are maniacs. HELP!

So tonight at my local oil change place they started my 2001 Sonoma before they filled the oil back up. It was probably on for around 10 seconds at most. I drove it for a while and checked the oil after. Oil is clear, there's no burning smell, no noticible change in acceleration or RPMs.

They were good about it, signed the invoice stating that they did this etc. but I assume that really would only have helped me had the engine died down the block. Does anyone know if I should be genuinely concerned in this case, given that it was only on briefly, and that it wouldn't have been completely dry?

hi..quick run down..98 chevy cav
engine turns over very rough on starts of late
.I can hear the starter clicking.hear the piston engageing..it's like a very slow turnover like a bad battery??
.first time I turn the key the engine doesn't catch..second time I give the car a lil gas and it fires up.
runs fine on highway..on hills etc. like there is no problem
had it to oreilys..engine light stays on..obd meter showed no codes
I replaced the battery..put in new air filter..fuel filter..had engine tuned up 3 months ago..new spark plugs/wires etc..
just cleaned the whole starter/battery/connections etc..and rough start still happening..
oreilys tested the starter..said it is good?? battery and alt.tested fine.
if it was the starter is the problem..why would stepping on the gas cause the car to "catch"...what do you think is really going on with this car??
if the starter circuit was going bad..would stepping on the gas cause the car to catch?/?
help

there is a sticker on the shock tower of my 1998 Camaro with emissions information and some kind of bar codes. the problem is that it was put on crooked by the factory and it is really messing up the look of my otherwise perfect camaro.

I already removed the sticked which telles you what kind of collant to use and the accessory belt routing info. but the other sticker is not coming off without ripping. can I buy a new one if I rip this one?

When I'm driving on the interestate, usually my check engine light comes on when I get close to 75 mph....sometimes it happens at lower speeds, but usually when I'm close to 75. The way for me to get the light to come off, is to simply pull over, turn off the car, and then start it back up and drive again. The weird part is that when the light comes on, my RPMs sky rocket, almost like I downshifted a gear (but its an automatic). I'm not sure if its transmission fluid or what, but I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
