The Check Transmission Indicator comes on and the O/D OFF light flashes after about 5 miles at highway speed. The Over Drive is still working and the transmission seems to be shifting fine. Fluid level is OK. I shut off the engine for 5 seconds and when I turn it back on, the indicator light is off. Any ideas?

those have a sensor in them that causes this to happen it goes off if it detects a higher than normal temperature,or the sensor is faulty,it also monitors the shift of it,id take it by a transmission shop and let them look at it and test drive it they can tell you if it may be going to cause problems, that's better than waiting for it to tear up,it may be something simple, good luck with it.
