I have a 1996 Dodge Intrepid and recently my check engine light has turned on. When I start my car in the morning and step on the gas it stutter or won't go right away. Is this my transmission causing this or something else?

Sarah most likely it is not a major problem with the transmission.... have the memory codes checked and resolve the problems found.... you did not mention mileage or recent service so....

Take it to an auto supply store in your area that offers free diagnostics and have them hook up a code reader and read the codes and go from there. Autozone is one store I know and they are pretty much nationwide.

it could b ur catilitic converter. i had a problem similar to that. listen for rattling under ur car. if u heat it, take it to a muffler shop and have them check it out. if its broken, ur gonna need to get a new one b4 it gets into ur system.
