At that point it starts to hiss. I bought the car used with 90k miles. I've changed the oil/filter once. The old oil was only dark, but had no grit in it at all.

The AC is good and cold, *but* there's no difference when I turn on the AC and the MaxAC.

Could it be a fan problem?

How serious is this?

Well I was washing my car yesterday, and all of a sudden, a huge chunk of paint peeled right off! Looks kinda ugly..... So can anyone give me a ball park idea of how much it will be to paint my hood? I am not looking to match the color of the car, so i've decided that the color black wouldn't look too bad. Best answer get's 10 big one's!

I'm not really a car buff so I was wondering if I could get some help from you guys.

Basically, when a car's front rotors are replaced, do the corresponding brakepads have to replaced as well or is it vice-versa in that when a car's brakepads are placed, the rotors have to be replaced as well.

I'm curious because about a year ago my girlfriend had her brakepads replaced on her 2003 Nissan Maxima. When they replaced her brakepads, I'm not sure if they replaced the rotors. A couple of weeks ago she started getting heavy vibrations from the steering wheel when braking and brought it into a couple of shops. They said that her rotors had to be replaced. But the shops were also saying that she couldn't just replace the front rotors but that she had to replace the brakepads as well.

What I don't really understand is that she spent a lot of money to have her brakepads replaced a year ago. But now, to have the replace the brakepads again due to the failing rotors makes me ?????

I need to put jack stands next to the rear wheels of my 99 Accord EX. I'm using the towing hook as my jack point with a floor jack. Unfortunately, my floor jack has only 14" of lift and that is not enough for the tires to lift. Any suggestions for an alternative jack point or should I have to get another jack (much expensive)?

Over the past week or so, I've had a slow leak in my driver side front tire. I don't have the time or the money to get it fixed/looked at right away, so I was wondering about this Fix-a-Flat stuff? There is a nail in the tire, I realized that after carefully looking at it. It's not completely flat yet but I was thinking about getting the Fix a Flat stuff to use for the next few days so I can just get to and from work. Will it fix it with the nail in there? Should I take the nail out and then use the fix a flat? Thanks for the help!!

Yeah, and just answers pertaining to the fix a flat. I know I should take it to get it fixed, I know it's not good and not safe to drive around on it blah blah...but I have no choice right now, haha!

Changed the filter sending units was good,, looked good, ,was fine before the pump died. i Put on a new fuel pump. Made sure everthing was tight no leaks. it will run if i gas it slowly but when i hit it it gets stutering and hesitating. I do not see how changng a fuel pump would damage a tranny or plug the cataletic converter. The truck ran very well before the change. any ideas Thanks

the other night at a red light, when it turned green I went to hit the gas on my 2000 Grand prix gt, and there was just nothing there. as if I put it in park, it just revved up without even trying to go....The transmission never really slipped at all, and now the trans. fluid seems to be high, *(about 2inches higher on the dip stick*)...I didn't add or do anything to the car...Is the tranny gone, or could it be a pump, or solenoid???? I'm stuck without a ride, and need to get it fixed asap!!!! Any suggestions????

I have a 93 Buick Regal and the Tail lights will not work, the turn signals work fine, even the stop light on the trunk lid. I have changed the bulbs and still nothing. My turn lever on the steering is alittle wore out, to get the turns to work, I pull it down and pull in just alittle, then they work. Could this have anything to do with the tail lights not working, or is it a short somewhere?

the shimmy does not occur when turning left. it occurs while coasting or while accelerating. the harder the turn, the harder the shaking. it is shimmying from side-to-side and feels like the van will shake apart. it started very suddenly. it did not start out as a little shimmy, it was very sudden.
