I need to put jack stands next to the rear wheels of my 99 Accord EX. I'm using the towing hook as my jack point with a floor jack. Unfortunately, my floor jack has only 14" of lift and that is not enough for the tires to lift. Any suggestions for an alternative jack point or should I have to get another jack (much expensive)?

You should be able to jack the car up at the pinchweld... under the doors where the rocker panel meets the floor of the car there is a lip of metal sticking down where the two sections are welded together. Place your floor jack centered under this lip to raise the car and you can place your jack stands under it as well when you have it jacked up. Otherwise, see if you can position the jack under the rear suspension at each wheel as this will give you the most lift of the tire off the ground..........Paul
