my 97 geo metro low beam lights are out, although the high beams work. how much should it cost to have them replaced?

they kind of went out suddenly, both at the same time - does that normally happen or maybe something else is the cause?

I have a 94 Honda Accord. I havent had AC so I went to a car parts store today to see what I need. The guy check my car and it was converted to R 134. Today he put a refill of freon fluid but my AC still isnt working. What can it be?

i just installed some leds and fog lights in my 2004 eclipse. I think i may have fried the battery. After putting them in my car wont start, its a standard so i kick started it and i drove 40 min to work. I tried to start it after getting to work and it didnt start, it cranked once then just clicked. I tried again and it was just clicking. The positive cable was corroded so i cleaned it and it still did the same thing. So i jumped it and took the positive cable off and it stayed running so that eliminated the alternator. I am thinking it is a bad battery that wont hold a charge, i am going to take the battery to advance auto parts to have it checked tomorrow but does anybody have any other ideas or does that sound about right?

I'm taking my car (99 Saturn) in tomorrow to fix something electrical - my dad says the problem might be more than the alternator. What should I tell the mechanic to look for? I'd like to drive away from the mechanic without having my car die again...read below

On April 20th, my car died. I noticed problems like the gauges flickering, the radio dying and the rate of accelaration slowly decreasing whenever I hit the pedal a good 10 minutes before it actually died. I had it towed, and the mechanics put in a rebuilt alternator.

On Friday the 27th, my car wouldn't even start - my dad had to hook up his truck battery to mine to get my car to start. When I turned the key, nothing happened.

Today (the 1st), I was driving up a steep hill with a million speed bumps, and all of a sudden my radio died, and the rest of the car followed suit. It died much faster the second time around.

i wanted to get whips on my pickup. but then thought i may as well get a Radio to. my dad said i should get a handheld CB Radio. but i duno which would be better. my dad said i could then take it where ever, rather then just the car. but he also said that CB Radios are dieing. i've been seeing them more and more lately. well at least antenna's on pickups. i know that truckers use them. but what about the general public. are they still in such use as from the 70's and 80's? i thought it would be fun to have one in my truck. What do you guys think is better between handheld and a mobile vehile radio? and are CB Radios a dieing fad? are they not really used anymore?

My 2002 Elantra cigarette lighter does not work. I do not have a book for the car, so I do not know anything about them. Also my fan that runs heater and air conditioner only works on #4. What's up with that.

There is plenty of power to power lights, cd etc. After a long run it will often start first time for weeks at a time but then "decide " to not start again for another few weeks without a push and bump.

I believe my car got water spots from being parked in the driveway when the sprinklers come on. Now they won't come off when I wash the car. I've even tried waxing the car. What's the best way to remove these spots. Thanks.

Does anyone out there know of a place where I can buy car windows online?

I have a Honda CR-V from 2006 and I need to replace one of the rear quarter windows. A rock flew up and cracked the window. I called a bunch of places and they wanted me to pay more than $400 to replace the window. I tried going online to part websites and I find everything for the car but windows. Any hellp is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure whether or not this has anything to do with it, but I ran over pieces of an unraveled tire on the road a few weeks ago. Now, when I idle in rush hour traffic, my engine thermostat registers H and the indicator light comes on (although there is no smell, leak, smoke, and the vehicle has never overheated). Once I pick up speed for a couple of miles, the gauge returns to normal. Before I spend a bunch of money, does anyone have an idea of why the car appears to overheat based on the dashboard indicators, but doesn't seem to be overheating. The coolant level is fine.

The alarm of a neighbor's car goes off during the night at regular 2 min. intervals and each time it sounds for about 10 seconds, until he comes (after about an hour) and drives off. Is this a technical glitch? Or is it programmed to do that on purpose?
