ok so here's my problem my car recently had trouble getting into gears. so i discovered that the radiator water was mixed with oil and i checked the engine dipstick, but it was fine, then i checked the transmission oil dipstick, and was the same mixure color as the radiator. kind of light brownish chocolate color. so i dropped the transmission oil pan and it was full of this stuff. when it all finished dripping, i poured more water into the radiator, and i saw it was leaking from 2 pipes inside the transmission where the oil pan was. but the lines weren't broken or old looking, rather it was leaking from the joint. so my questions are as follows.
1. is this fixable
2. how much will it cost
3. can i do it myself
4. do i have to take out the whole transmission
5. do i need a whole new transmission

ok, and the car is a 1985 oldsmobile ninety-eight regency
thanks in advance

The car hit my back bumper as well as my rear left tire. The tire looks fine but can that bump cause a wheel alignment problem or is it something more serious. After filing the police report, when I drove home I had to steer quite a bit left to get the car to go straight. I have a 05 honda accord and wheel alignment is only done to the front tires right? I hope it's not something more serious that will cost me a lot of $.

This is a great little SUV. I've been the only owner since I bought it Jan 2000. The only major problem I've had in 7 years is the dealer changed out the cam shafts in 2005. Now the battery light is coming on. Does anyone know what a battery light on the dash indicator could mean? I've looked on automotive forums and many have said to check the ground for the alternator or the alternator is going bad. I hope it's just the grounding. HELP!! I don't want to part with my Rodeo, it's great!

I noticed about three weeks ago it went to 199,999 and stayed there for a while. Then it went on normally into the 200k's like it should have been there. Actually the vehicle has around 170,000 on it. Now it reads 600,000. Any clues?

I have a 96 Saturn Sl2. My starter seems to go out once a year. Do you think something is causing this, or do you think maybe I have bad battery cables or something. It makes no noise, but if i wait it will start up. Someone told me to check the cables, but when the starter is brand new it does not ever do this, which makes me think it wouldn't be battery related.

My car has 300,000 miles on it and ran well until the distributor went out. Had a new one put on but a few days later it began stalling so bad could hardly drive it. The shop checked it out and could not find the problem but said it likely the carburator. Only problem is I put a new carburator on it a year ago. So I put in some BG22 fuel sys cleaner and it began running much better. Now it barely stalls at times when accelerating and the ECS light quit going on all the time when I decel; it just goes on occasionally. Do you think I should run some more fuel sys cleaner through it on my next tank of gas or bring it into a suburu shop? What do you think could be wrong? I am OK driving it with more cleaner as that seems to get it better over time.
