Disassemble the panels under the steering column until you can get to the wiring bundle that leads to the ignition switch. Use a digital multimeter set for DC volts to test the wires. Don't use a test light; airbag wiring may be in the same area and if you use a test light on the wrong wire your airbag may go off. Connect the black probe to ground and test each wire from the ignition switch with the red probe. You're looking for a wire that shows 12 volts with the key in the ACC or RUN positions, no voltage in the START position, and no voltage in the OFF position.
