I bet the part is only about $60 , It is the labor that costs. I would sugest buying the part and taking it to a trusted mechanic that can install it for you. It should save you at least $50 or $60.

Probably right.... some of those engine have so much stuff on them.... it takes time to get the waterpump on and off.

Sounds right if they replaced the pump and you aren't in the Ozarks. In a New York dealership they would get you for $500 or more.
