First before you go spending a lot of money check your tires. When tires are out of balance they will cause the car to shake violently at high speeds. Also a bent rim or a broken steel belt in one of your tires will cause the same thing. Depending on where you live Goodyear or Firestone should be able to detect if it is your tires by balancing them. If it not your tires then check the tranny mount that mount will cause a shake and a harsh vibration if it is bad. Motor mounts tell on themselves when you place the vehicle in gear.

It's most likely tires. How fast are you driving? Most tires are static balanced for 85 MPH. After that they can not guaranty a smooth ride. If you want to have a smooth ride above 85 MPH you need to have a performance balance done on the tire. They use better weights that will not shift at high speeds and will promise a smooth ride. You may also want to check the speed rating on your tires and make sure you’re not exceeding the speed rating. As far as how you know you need a new motor mount and transmission mounts. You will feel or hear loud hard thunks when you shift or accelerate.

Have your tires checked VERY carefully. The sidewalls can be delaminating and partially separated, which usually causes vibration and the tires will fail.

If your tires are perfect, better get your front end aligned and your motor mounts checked. Usually one side or the other of the motor mounts will be broken and it will cause a problem when you turn a corner and accelerate.

First, check the wheel balance. If the car shakes only when moving fast, and not when the engine is revved up to 4-5000 rpm, it's the wheels.
