Changed the filter sending units was good,, looked good, ,was fine before the pump died. i Put on a new fuel pump. Made sure everthing was tight no leaks. it will run if i gas it slowly but when i hit it it gets stutering and hesitating. I do not see how changng a fuel pump would damage a tranny or plug the cataletic converter. The truck ran very well before the change. any ideas Thanks

Still sounds like a fuel pressure problem. Have you checked it?

its definitely a fuel delivery problem, reason is under heavy acceleration your not supplying the fuel to the engine,at slow throttle its just enough to feed it .check and make sure the fuel filter is not on backwards if you replaced it.check the fuel pressure.also check the air flow sensor and make sure it clean and able to read the air flow to the intake tube,it will sometimes get debris on them and will cause it to have low power.

The computer may still think is running with the original (worn) fuel pump and has not yet gone into "closed loop".

You may want to disconnect the negative battery terminal for three minutes or so to clear any previously stored computer memory. (ignition key ON)

ADDED:
Maybe you got a bad fuel pump? Have it pressure tested.

It sounds like one or more of your injectors may be stuck open, which causes the car to run very rich and in return loses power and clogs the converter from excess carbom burning.
