yes that shoutld be easy.. my grandmother has a 98 and it is a 3.8 liter v6.. i think that is all they put in them. anyway you can find one at a junk yard or try buying a rebuilt one from autozone or oriellys... if you go to a gm dealer you will have to pay a couple arms and legs for it. they will probably charge you a couple grand just for the motor. then they will want to drop it in themselves. if you want the warranty that is and that will be even more money. also try looking on ebay

GMC dealer can get you a rebuilt one with warranty.
