my moms cat scratched the top of my car and was wondering how i could go about fixing it without using my insurance company which might make my insurance go up and don't want to pay expensive price on getting a professional to do it when it isn't but about 3 scratches. it is only through the top coat.

I have a 92 cavalier.. I replaced to begin with, the starter.. now nothing happens.. seems like a dead battery, but autozone said battery was fine. I changed the coil, and I have checked all the replays and fuses.. What else could be making my car act as if it has no life left? Help me Please

Just replaced heads, intake, cam, lifters, etc., car won't start, and backfires through the carb and then flames.

I figure it to be timing but other than that I am lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there any way to disconnect the Day Time Running lights (DRL) and make it that the headlights do not come on at anytime other than by turning on the switch? I want to be able to drive around say early evening with just the parking lights and fog lamps on.

I have a '78 MGB with a customized engine (cross-flow heads, dual HF carbs). It normally drives great.

The other day, it stalled when starting up from a stop sign and I couldn't get it to start. I eventually had to have it towed back home.

It still doesn't start. The two reasons are usually lack of fuel, or lack of (sufficient) electricity. The gauge said there was fuel, but I put in a couple of gallons anyway. I let it sit overnight. I tried starting it while jumping the battery. It usually needs the choke out to start, but it's just not starting ini its usual way.

It cranks but doesn't catch. The fuel pump is only a couple of years old, and I can hear it clicking. I redid the battery cables a couple of years ago, so they're in decent shape.

Any other ideas?

I have a powerboss 5500 generator with a 10 horse Briggs and Stratton motor and it is very loud is there a muffler that will make it very quiet without affecting performance by much.

My problem is that when i step on it, the car changes gear fast (is an auto trans.) and it seems like i'm lossing a lot of power on the engine and another thing is that when i go over 60 mph and i get to a stop sign you know i stop and i go and that is when the car feels like a slipping clutch it would take 30 yards to feel normal. this happens everytime i drive the car. Pleae help me.

Okay the problem starts when I start the truck it sometimes seems as if the battery is weak but it's not .So the car turns on and it starts making a weird noise that comes from the front buy the passengers seat, but what really is weird is that this happens occasionally sometimes it makes the noise and other times it doesn't can someone tell me what might be the problem! So heres the deal, I don't have much money to spend, and I really need to put a trailer hitch on my '93 honda accord. All I'll ever be pulling is a small trailer, probably never more than about 600 pounds total weight of the trailer and load.

Heres what makes it difficult though, my car is lowered almost 4 inches, and has an aftermarket exhaust. I frequently scrape my exhaust so I figure the whole package can't sit any lower than what the exhaust sits. Also, I want it so I can easily bolt it on and off, just when I need to use it. (I believe this is a possible design to make)

I was thinking about bolting together some steel tubing, and bolting it to where the little tiedown loops are currently bolted, but I was told by one person not to due to liability reasons. He said hitches must be done by a certified welder, otherwise if I'm ever in any accident with an uncertified hitch, I could get sued big time. (according to him).

Any advice how I can get a hitch on my car?

I had just got 4 new tires and all new brakes put on my 96 chevy lumina. It is a 4 door, V8 automatic. I had just got back from washing it. When I came home, I sprayed some Armoral Wheel Spray on my rims. When I sprayed it on my front rims, the fluid that got on my brake housing started to fry. Would that be normal? If not, why did that happen? Is that a problem?

How much does your car get after that gas light comes on until it runs out and stalls, assuming you slow down and turn off the ac/roll up windows. And its all highway driving.
