Go ahead and start your machine up. Now go to the rear of it, and look for the tailpipe (the little round thingy where the wind comes out when you are driving down the road) now put your face down there next to it and have one of your friends press down on the gas pedal, if the wind coming out of the round thingy is hot you have a/c if it's cold you don't have a/c.

There will usually be a label on the dash that says A/C, or in some cars a symbol that looks like a snow flake. Push it and if the air gets cold it works and you have it.
If the smbol is not there and the A/C letters are wiped off, you can always look under the hood and see if you can spot the condensor or the compressor. If your car has what appears to be 2 radiators, the one in front is the condensor and you should have air conditioning. The compressor is harder to spot unless you know what you're looking at, but it will be driven by one of the belts.

i don't know of any newer cars that don't have a/c i think almost any car 90 and up have a/c but u can check by looking on ur a/c control in your car and see if it says a/c or cold/ or has a control for warm air and cold air, that would be the easiest, but if u want u can look under ur hood and and your left side on the wall there should be a box that has tubes coming out, with a blue cap, if u see anything like this then u have a/c but ur safest bet if ur not sure is go to wal-mart or autozone and just go up to them and tell them to check ur a/c and they will tell u if u have a/c or not

Look on the dashboard for a buttopn or knob labeled A/C. If you can't find that open the window while driving and you will have your own homemade AC

If you have the Owners Manual, it would tell you about the A/C. You can also check around the heater settings and see if it calls for it.

It will have a control that says AC on it. If you are still not sure, take to a trusted mechanic and ask them.

Instead of explaining how to d.i.y., Take the car to the dealership that sells that brand, and ASK!
