For a 1999 F-150 with the V6:
Yesterday morning the truck wouldn't start. No sound from under the hood or anything.

I tried jumping it to no avail. Then I took the starter to Autozone and they tested it as bad and sold me a new one. That one didn't work. I pulled it off and brought it back to autozone and it also tested bad. Traded bad starter for a new one (they tested this one and it ran) but when I put it on, nothing happens.

The lights don't dim when I try starting the truck and I'm only loosing about a volt between the battery and terminal. So, I don't think the problem is wiring or a battery, but I could be wrong here.

I would assume the wiring in the starter and solenoid is heavy enough to not be able to burn out due to some other problem. Is this correct?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven

He said he was changing the spark plugs and he strips 1 of them and a piece of metal fell inside the engine. Now the engine sounds nasty and he wants to sell it. Anyone know where the metal might be stuck and what further damage would be caused if just left as is and drivin. How hard would it be to take apart and find the metal? Would I just have to rebuild the engine or replace??

So I avoided his calls. Now what? Would the car be towed by now? I think this was at least 2 weeks ago that he fixed it.

The added fault code is 'engine coolant temperature sensor or circuit fault'. I was gentle with the new o2 sensor. Did I possibly kink the wiring upon installation of the new o2 sensor? It's a '95 Nissan Maxima. Thanks.

A friend of mine owns a 2003 chevy cavalier. Today she noticed the check engine light turn on and shortly after that, the car jolted and then stalled. When she went to try to turn it back on, it would start, but it wouldnt stay running. Could this be a fuel pump problem or something else? The car has 40,000 miles on it.

1994 Chevrolet K3500 6.5L Turbo Diesel (Detroit Diesel)
- Dual Rear Wheels
- 189,000 Miles
- 4X4 ( I drive it in 2WD though)
- New Tires. Properly Inflated.
- Had Oil Changed Recently (used Shell Rotella 15W-40)
- 4L80E Transmission with Overdrive.
- New Green Lifetime Air Filter (very similar to K&N Filter)

This truck only gets 10 MPG city and 11.5 MPG on the highway just driving, not towing anything. I know trucks like this aren't known for their fuel economy but this stuff seems odd to me. The RPMs at 55 MPH is around 2250 RPMs. The RPMS at 65 MPH is around 2750 RPMs. This seems awfully high to me. Also, at 65 MPH (with cruise control on) it will go faster, then slow down. Then it will pick back up to 65, speed up over 65 and then go back down. It repeats this pattern.

Something seems wrong here. Any ideas what it could be? Differential ratio to high? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Have an old chevy truck 1979 that has the typical rust around fenders and bed wheel areas. I do not have a welder or cutting equipment. Are there any tricks or products to stop the rust without cutting out the metal and replacing it?

1979 chevy 1/2 ton driver side door glass jumps off track. This happens when I roll the window about half to three quarters down. I took the door panel off and it seems that the guide at the front has weakened. Any way to fix this without replacing the guide? I do not have a welder or cutting equipment.

This is a freshly rebuilt 400 c.i. Olds motor. AIll other cylinders checked out with 135-150 psi. I just got the motor back from the machine shop and installed it soon thereafter. New cam, pistons, piston rings, etc. I'm guessing the valves weren't placed correctly and a valve job may be in the works. OR the block is blown.
