He said he was changing the spark plugs and he strips 1 of them and a piece of metal fell inside the engine. Now the engine sounds nasty and he wants to sell it. Anyone know where the metal might be stuck and what further damage would be caused if just left as is and drivin. How hard would it be to take apart and find the metal? Would I just have to rebuild the engine or replace??

"I'm not much of a mechanic, but I'm going to buy a car with engine damage". Do the math.

unless he is giving this car away, u should run away. chances are the engine is shot and needs rebuild or replaced. u are looking at 1000 labor to drop in new engine. it would probably be cheaper to put in used engine. if u are good at that, be my guest. i gotta tell u that intrepids aint the most reliable vehicle. check out the prices on autotrader.com. considering u can get one for 3000 bucks that runs, this one is worth maybe 500 bucks.

If it won't run, don't buy it.
Reguardless of what anyone says.
