You should not have driven afterwords. You need to take your car to the repair shop it could cause a lot of damage you could end up replacing your engine you need to stop driving your car now until you talk to a mechanic!

well it happened to me also i had already put 10 ltrs of diesel in but then i filled it tup with petrol and topped it petrol treatment and it worked fine, unfortunately you willl have to replace the fuel filter and check the plugs or clean them, if you have put too much ie half a tank you must stop and take out and clean the tank especially if its a post 2000 car

If you can drain the tank and refill with gasoline, it should be ok once the diesel is cleared from the remainder of the fuel system. I'd recommend changing your engine oil and filter as well as your fuel filter. Gasoline in a diesel, however is a recipe for disaster.

If you haven't started the engine, DON'T START IT. Have it towed to a shop that can drain the fuel tank and flush it out. Make sure they replace all the fuel filters, too.
If you have started it, you still need the fuel drained, but they'll also have to drain and flush all the fuel lines. It won't be cheap, but it's the only way to fix this.

you are screwed. I had a friend who did that once, and his car NEVER ran the same again.
Why in the hell would someone give a "thumbs down" for my answer? All of these answers spell out all of the things that will need to be done to fix this, so dosen't that constitute being "screwed"? I know most people would be screwed because these things are expensive to do.

If you attempted starting it, the entire fuel delivery system will have to be flushed completely out, from the fuel tank, injectors, filter, you name it! You should have mentioned what vehicle you did this to.
