The added fault code is 'engine coolant temperature sensor or circuit fault'. I was gentle with the new o2 sensor. Did I possibly kink the wiring upon installation of the new o2 sensor? It's a '95 Nissan Maxima. Thanks.

The O2 sensor has nothing to do with ect sensor. However, you may have unplugged it by accident or something when you changed the O2? Did you check your coolant level? Pull a wire out of the ect sensor by mistake?

You can't hurt it unless you have spliced the wire leading to it. Oxygen sensors generate a small current, and the splices will cause them to not operate properly. The engine coolant temperature sensor is usually located in the thermostat housing on most autos, and the reason that your code reads as if it might be bad, is because the engine computer doesn't have any way to compare It's data to determine if it is actually bad. I would check the plug and the wire leading to it, for signs of being burnt (from being too close to the engine), or just a loose connection.

Clear all the codes stored in the computer so it can start fresh.

Maybe talk to a mechanic about it and get him/her to take a look.
