john paul is close in getting this answer just find a short piece of pipe that will screw into the heads and get an adapter to an bigger pipe put course steel wool inside the big pipe (do not pack it tight just loose pack it) and another adapter that reduces in size should do it to keep the steel wool in but it cuts down on the noise alot and the performance was hardly affected

I hope you do not have to use the generator very much. Yes there are many mufflers that can do the job. To bad you elected to go with a single instead of a V twin. But that said the pop pop of a single can be elminated with a long enough 3/4" pipe or a even shorter 1" pipe to a mild put put. Just direct the sound down and away.

You should be able to track down a replacement Briggs and Stratton muffler by the numbers on the engine it's self.

Model (mod) usualy six numbers
Code (code) usualy two numbers-and four numbers
Serial number (ser)six to seven numbers depending....

This will be stamped into the engine blower housing, and may be difficult to find, but they are there.....

Oh, you know what, thats a Generac huh? That sucks...Parts are a pain in the @$$ to find on those, and engine numbers may not help......
