I had just got 4 new tires and all new brakes put on my 96 chevy lumina. It is a 4 door, V8 automatic. I had just got back from washing it. When I came home, I sprayed some Armoral Wheel Spray on my rims. When I sprayed it on my front rims, the fluid that got on my brake housing started to fry. Would that be normal? If not, why did that happen? Is that a problem?

One more thing, I do not ride my brakes. I am the type to stop on a dime.

It's fine......It's normal.
Water based products boil at 212 deg.
Your brakes are around 300 deg. durring use.

Wow. Assuming that you have disc brakes on the front (I'm pretty sure Luminas of that year did) then that is insanely hot for a caliper housing. I could see the rotors getting that hot if you brake hard, but since the caliper housing does not come in contact with any friction parts, I'm stumped. I'd take it back to the guys who did the work and get them to take a closer look at the calipers.

There is also the possibility that the Armor All had a chemical reaction with something that was left on the caliper, like brake fluid. I'm hoping that this is the case.

You did not say just how long it was, but your disk(front) brakes get VERY hot when applied. The strength and density of the materials used for the housing of the system result in them staying hot for a fair amount of time. I would still guess it was within 10 minutes?

Brakes get hot. It's fine.
Kilowatt, don't waste so much time typing when you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
