What can I do to repair the slight scratches made by my wipers when I went thru a mud puddle? My new windshield has slight scoring marks and I know there has to be a way to repair them. Do NOT want to buy a new windshield again!

Before I made that huge mistake, I had about 10 gallons in my tank. I pumped in about 4 gallons of the diesel into my Camry. If I pump out the gas and fill it with unlead gas, will it be ok or do I still have to take it in to have it flushed out and have maintenance work on it?

The vehicle is a 1993 Ford Thunderbird LX. It has 107000 miles on it and it has been serviced when it was supposed to. The motor is the 3.8L V6. I have been losing coolant and im getting white smoke from the tail pipe. My question is im thinking its just a head gasket but is it even logical to think it could be a cracked head. I know the ford 3.8 is known for head gasket failure im just trying to make sure i have a good chance of it just being the gasket.

We have been trying to start a '90 Caddy El Dorado, but it won't budge. It has a special mechanism where the alarm locks the ignition switch, but it's been so long since we've used it that we forgot the trick that gets it to disengage. If anyone knows how to disengage it, please post the answer. It will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I know that adding too much oil to your car is not a good thing. Is there any danger to your engine if you change your oil more than is reccommended?

Ok so with all the snow we got this weekend, I have a hard time finding parking on the street. Tried running over a patch of snow to push my way into a spot, now when I turn right i hear a noise, not a clicking. More like a low-sounding grinding. Is it the CV joint ? Someone asked a similar question and I think that's it. How much does that usually go for??

Actually, there's ZERO juice going through.

My battery got stolen the other night, I bought a new one, van started and drove perfectly about 20 blocks. I parked it, shut it off, and seconds later tried to restart.......There's NOTHING going through the cables now.
Even attempting to jump it wouldn't get power to dome lights, ignition lights, nothing.

What could have fouled up so bad by simply putting a new battery in?

Now, I know that it's not an alternator or starter problem, as there is really NO power getting through.

What's between the battery and everything else that could possibly be blocking all power to the van?

All thoughts much appreciated!

i beginning to think it is because i am a woman and each time i take it in, they are charging me $150+ to to tell me this...i have changed the fuel filter, air filter, replaced split vaccuum line. thermostat runs to 1/4 line mark when on highway and gets to "normal" only in city driving. put in isoheet in gas tank tonight. seems to idle real high, then drops down low. does not always quit, if i keep foot off brake it seems to keep it running if i am able to keep creeping at stops. hope this makes sense....thanks for any of your responses...it is greatly appreciated

I can tell that the truck will not start when the remote does not open the doors. It will turn over like it is going to start and run for 5 seconds then die like the gas has been turned off. the dome light will be off in the cab but the radio will still work and I will have power to other things. I dont think it happens at any certain time. I might let it sit for 15 minutes and then it will start. Sometimes it takes longer, up to a day. I know it will start when my remote opens the doors. I did change the battery in the remote and that did not help.

I own a 01 Volkswagen Golf. Recently the notification sound that signals that your lights have been left on doesn’t work anymore. It seems that its somehow related to the door ajar sensor which also doesn’t seem to be working. My Check engine light has also been coming on every month or so. When my mechanic plugs the car into the computer, I don’t believe he gets much info on any specific problem. Im not sure if that is related or to this specific problem or not. Any help pointing me the right direction would be appreciated.

I recently bought a 92 ford explorer xlt with A4LD transmion, as it turns out the transmission was bad so I bought a new one and have instaled it

After installing the new one, now it wont work, the wheels dont turn at all

I believe I may have overfilled the transmission somewhat but even so I think it should be working at least a little bit

someone told me it could be a missaligned torque convertor
but it all fit correctly

well if anyone knows plz tell me, Im starting to think it is a misaligned torque convertor thanks :)

Car antenna won't retract, any ideas on what the repair might cost or if there are cheaper alternatives?
I bought a used car about 9 months ago and it has one of those antennas that automatically retracts when you turn off the radio or turn off the car, and then comes back out again whenever the radio is turned back on. The problem is that a few months back, I switched from CD to radio and then when I got out of the car, the antenna had not gone down. So I turned the car on and off again, and I could hear the antenna motor trying to pull the antenna back down but it was not going anywhere. I assume that what I need to do is replace the motor, but if there is a cheaper alternative that would be great (I don't want to damage or remove the antenna because even though I usually listen to Ipod/CDs, I do occasionally use the radio). Any idea on cost of replacing the motor or any alternatives?
