I have done a complete tune up and that still didn't fix it, it is also using a lot of gas. Help please!

since trying to fix my heater on bmw 740 i heard a gong and now its telling me to put in a 4 digit code before i can start the car. i have tried doing what it says in the book about disconnecting the battery for 2 min then put it back on and wait another ten minutes while the counter counts down but the car still wont start

lately my thermostat was going up and overheating. my coolant and at times water didn't do much to stop it. later on i get a paper stating that it may be a head gasket wearing down and said it would be better to get another engine. now i recently drove it to a metro stop which was only a few blocks. heard a knocking and decided to take it back home only for it to stop and not start. again the question would be how much would it be to get a engine repaired(including finding a replacement) or head gasket or should I just get a new car.

Now when I drive soft or under 40mph It's ok, but when I punch it or hit 40 +mph It smokes like a chimney. What's my problem? To much oil maybe? I put one quart in the new oil filter and 5 in the block. The engines a 350.

i have a renault espace L reg and the power steering rack is leaking really badly, i have asked some garages about repair but none of them want to do it as it's apparently a ***** to do. i have looked at doing it myself and have had a prive of £175 fo r the rack, the problem is although i have some mechanical knowledge i have been put off by the garages turning it down, is it really this hard to do.

As of the last few days my steering wheel has been shaking in town when i'm going from 20km to about 70-80. It wobbles back and forth and since i got the vehicle i've noticed when making sharper turns its like the tire catches on the pavement a little and you can hear it scrape but nothing major. As of the last month i have been driving on alot of gravel if that makesa difference.
Should I immediately get this checked. what is it??

I have got a 88 F- 150. When i drive it for a hour or 2 then i turn if off for a few minutes. Why does it act like the battery is low of energy, but if i leave it alone for about 30 minutes it is fine. Problem only happens after it has been ran for a little and has been known to melt the battery cables (negative side only so far.)

My friend drives a 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix....4 cylinder....she filled it up at the gas station, got on the interstate drove for about 25 minutes at about 65-70 mph...she had to slow down to roughly 50 mph and then when she went to hit the gas the car made a loud clanking sound and wouldn't pick up speed so she let off the gas and tried again and the car did the same thing...she finally got it over to the shoulder and it completely died.....we cannot figure out what the clanking sound was OR why the car just lost all power.....I was thinking possibly sugar in the tank would cause a loss of power but what is the clanking sound. she said the sound came from under the hood nowhere else.

My idle is usually just under 1 when I first start the car up but when I drive its fine but when i stop at a traffic light my idle goes under 1 and the car starts vibrating..Do i need new spark plugs?

so it is a clear colored liquid under the driver side when i moved it to a different spot there just a tiny drip,,maybe water from heater or somthing huh?

How do you get tinting off a back window? I was able to scrape it off all the pasenger windows and stuff, but was told that i shouldnt do that to the rear window due to deffroster lines. Also whille im asking, how much should a paint job cost, if im just getting it repainted the same color as before?

I went out to the show came home, about a half hour later i walked to my car to grab my smokes,,i noticed a pancake sized spot under my front driver side..i touched it and smelt it ,it didnt feel or smell like oil ,,could this be water from running the heater or something,i pulled it to another spot in the drive and left it for a hour and theres just a small drip now..

I have a land rover, when I 'm about to take feet off gas it makes a grinding sound. But once I put my feet on brake, it's ok. It only last for 2-3 seconds and when I go over 2 miles per hour. Please help me because I get jacked at the garage.
