bigger rims = more fuel consumption
smaller rims = less fuel consumption

If you are going +1 or +2 rims you are likely going with a wider tire. Actually the increased rolling resistance of the larger tire will make more of a difference on your consumption than the +1 or +2 wheel. The weight of the extra inch of wheel is around the same weight you lose with lower tire side walls. So they cancel each other out.

So yeah, it will definitely affect your mileage, but not for the reason you would think of first.

Not that much. Unless you get ridiculous. You know 20 21 22 etc inch wheels. They throw more than fuel consumption out the window.

In not only depends on diameter but the width also. My friend had a tacoma with the skinny factory wheel about 8 or 9 inches. When he got some others that where 12.5 but the same diameter he lost a couple of miles. I think the width will effect mileage more. But anytime you add more weight it increases the amount of torque required to turn the wheels and more gas.

It is more about the total diameter of the tire/wheel assembly. If the diameter is the same, then it shouldn't have any affect on the mileage.

yes it will, but you will only notice a difference if the size of the new wheels is very large. it may also affect handling.
