I have a land rover, when I 'm about to take feet off gas it makes a grinding sound. But once I put my feet on brake, it's ok. It only last for 2-3 seconds and when I go over 2 miles per hour. Please help me because I get jacked at the garage.

Whatever it is, it's happening when you decrease load on the drive train. Check underneath, could be worn universal joints. Everybody gets jacked at the garage, it's an expensive business to be in. the fact is though, "pay me now, or pay me later". Here's a tip, when you drop off the vehicle, once and a while, bring coffee for the garage, if you go to the same garage often, a six pack of beer will go a very long way to establishing a good working relationship. Remember, mechanics live in a negative world, we only see people when they are in crisis, and in a hurry. It almost always seems like your getting screwed; but your not.

it sounds that you have a sirous brake problem here the grinding noise comes from what you call a metal to metal contact between the brake rotor and the surface of your brake pads( and i assume you have no more pads just metal)
and when the brake pads (sort of) grind on the rotor it digs deep and caused a groove on the outer tip of the rotor and when you give a speed it vibrates and wobbles thus the noise when you are moving over 2 miles
it is a very serious problem so please have a proffessional mechanic hace a look at it before it is too late and you have to machine your disc rotors(in pair for the front or back but if it exceeds the legal limit of the rotor thickness you have to replaced it

You shouldn't drive with both feet on the gas to begin with,but it sounds like you're describing a possible brake wear sensor noise.Sometimes the brake pads have little metal tabs to alert you when your brakes need replacement.If it's making a grinding noise instead of a squealing noise,you might be wise to get it looked at immediately before bigger problems arise.

Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance

For $20. it will tell all and fix all.

Rod bearings and struts are very distinctive from one yet another, I propose If I ask a mechanic and he tells me that, i visit a distinctive mechanic... it must be the struts or some thing to do with the braking device,,, i'm assuming its out of guarantee because of the fact if its the rod bearings which would be an high priced mess... Does it smoke any.... does it use alot of oil... do you modify the oil frequently, theres to many variables to this equation to assist you out totally with out being there in individual... perfect advice is to take it to somebody which you have faith

I would suspect the brakes first as the sound will seem less when going faster and amplify when gas is let off...

brakes do this and you dont hear it when applying the gas and those cars and made not to hear outside noise get them checked the wheel bearing will be constant no matter what and what speed you drive. thats about it for up front could also be the tranny in the car they don't have good ones from what i hear

possibly a wheel bearing but you never specified where it was coming from.most likely worn out brake pads.Brake pads on all vehicle wear out after about 30,000 miles.

It could be your front wheel bearings. If you call your nearest autozone, they can help you to troubleshoot it over the phone and hook you up with the parts and instructions you need to fix the problem

I believe it is a transmission problem, if it is a standard transmission, (one that you shift, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc), then it could be clutch release, or input shaft bearings on transmission, but could be further back, have a mechanic check it out, won't cost to ask them.
