Now when I drive soft or under 40mph It's ok, but when I punch it or hit 40 +mph It smokes like a chimney. What's my problem? To much oil maybe? I put one quart in the new oil filter and 5 in the block. The engines a 350.

What color is the smoke? That can go a long way in determining what the problem is.

Also, because of the truck's age, you may have some kind of oil leak in your internal engine; perhaps around your rings.

See my sources for details.

Hope this helps!

The factory manual says 5 quarts total. Six really shouldn't make it smoke the way you describe. Sounds more like your PCV or EGR systems have a problem. Maybe you're pulling oil into the intake via the PCV valve.
