Provided you haven't started the engine since pumping in the wrong fuel YES, draining the tank completely, and refilling with gasoline will be all that is needed. I'm just curious, how did you manage to get the pump nozzle for diesel fuel to fit through the restrictor on your fuel filler neck?

Actually, a small amount of Diesel will pass right through your car without a problem. Unfortunately, 30% Diesel is too concentrated. You can get away with pumping out half a tank and refilling with gas. Store the fuel you pump out, and you can add it back a little at a time over the course of a few weeks.

Since it was mostly gas, you stilll have to remove it all and replace with fresh gas.If you can get the vehicle to start. You may get away with having to flush the lines. It will run poorly and smoke some.Take it for a fairly long drive and it should clear up as you drive the old gas out.You may have to reset the computer by removing the neg Battery cable and replacing after 5 minutes. The check engine light may come on from the ECM finding something wrong with the emissions.

The diesel fuel must be removed by draining the tank.If you DO manage to get the car started, the diesel fuel will not combust fully and will wash down the cylinder walls, seep right past the piston rings into the crankcase contaminating your engine oil. That can lead to serious engine damage. Also it will probably ruin the catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, and other engine management systems.
