I can tell that the truck will not start when the remote does not open the doors. It will turn over like it is going to start and run for 5 seconds then die like the gas has been turned off. the dome light will be off in the cab but the radio will still work and I will have power to other things. I dont think it happens at any certain time. I might let it sit for 15 minutes and then it will start. Sometimes it takes longer, up to a day. I know it will start when my remote opens the doors. I did change the battery in the remote and that did not help.

Have you battery checked as the voltage may be low. Kragen or Auto Zone will check for free. Also make sure the connections are clean and bright, no corrosion.

first thing you wanna do is when it is running is disconnect the battery. If the truck stops running right away then you need a new alternator. give that a try if the truck still runs just take it to a shop and ask them to check the codes, sometimes just disconnecting the battery the codes will clear on the cpu. keep the positive cable off for about 3-5 mniutes. Do these things and at least you can rule out a few things

If this truck has a chip in the key, you could be having a problem with the security system. I had a 1999 Lumina with the chip and had a similar problem. There were a couple wires that needed to be soldered on a wiring harness under the dash. The wires were originally crimped, which would sometimes through off the resistance reading from the key.

This is why I will never install a remote starter system... It sounds to me like your RSS is on the fritz, so you'd better take it to the place where you had it installed and let them have a peek.
