My struts are practically dead and I need to get them replaced. The places I am going to are telling me that it is going to cost about 600 - $650. Is this a little inflated? I feel like it should be a lot less than that.

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT 2.0L

Let me know what you think, thanks.

I bought this truck with nothing wrong with it and then it left me stranded. Come to find out, a valve went bad in the greasecar system however I replaced the fuel pumpin the diagnosis process. Garage said that there are no leaks in the lines, but not sure how true it is. When I start the truck up, it runs rough and blows bluishwhite smoke till I start to drive it and it warms upl, then it only blows smoke when I'm going downhil and i have it in gear. Is my timing off because of ht efuel pump or is it something else? Any ideas?

I just bought a manual transmission car and I got 1 hour lesson from a driving school just to understand the basics. The instructor said when in first gear, I have to release the clutch slowly and apply gas at the same time to keep the rev constant. However when changing from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, he said to release the clutch slowly all the way and THEN apply the gas...is this true? After doing some reading, it seems whenever you need to shift, you should release the clutch and apply some gas at the same time.

Also, how do you rev match? How do you know what the rev should be compared to how fast you're going?

Here's the situation, I was driving home from work today and had the heat on. I did have the heat on for some time in the car, but then turned it off when I got warm. As I got closer to home, it got cold, so I turned the heat back on. For some reason it was blowing cold heat. I looked down at the temperture gauge and it was over the 195 mid point. I turned off the heater and drove slow on the roads when I got off the freeway. By the time I got back home, the gauge was just pushing the 260 point wth the check gauge light coming on. I parked my car and turned off the ignition. I let it sit for about 10 mins and then turned it back on. The check gauge light shut off, but it was still over the 195 point. I turned the heater on and heat was coming out. I shut the car down again and let it rest for 5 mins and started it up again. Heat was blowing cold. Unforuntetely I was driving at 90mph for about 20-30 mins. I think I blew a head gasget. Can someone help me? I need to get to work tomorrow

I`ve replaced the IAC and checked the EGR.I`m thinking it`s the EGR solenoid but I`m not sure. All vacuums have been checked and the plugs and wires are new. It only does this after it warms up and the engine is in gear and the brake applied. Running down the road it`s fine. At times it does this with the A/C on. Really don`t want to take it in and find out it was something simple. Any advice ?

I have a 1993 Chevy S-10 extended crew cab. Everything about the car is fine, but one thing: the acceleration! When I step on the gas pedal, the car moves at such a slow rate. The engine roars fine, but the car moves like a snail. It's as if I'm stepping on air when I hit the pedal, which ultimately forces me to step almost all the way down everytime there's a green light. The car seems to struggle just to accelerate. This is very embarrassing when I'm on the road, especially when the trucks have to cut me. The last time I looked, I believe the "Check Engine" light was on, but not too sure. Anyhow, I know it's hard to diagnose a vehicle unless you drive it, but does anyone have a clue as to what is going on with my car and how to fix it?
