I bought this truck with nothing wrong with it and then it left me stranded. Come to find out, a valve went bad in the greasecar system however I replaced the fuel pumpin the diagnosis process. Garage said that there are no leaks in the lines, but not sure how true it is. When I start the truck up, it runs rough and blows bluishwhite smoke till I start to drive it and it warms upl, then it only blows smoke when I'm going downhil and i have it in gear. Is my timing off because of ht efuel pump or is it something else? Any ideas?

I know it is not the glowplug system, I have no trouble starting the truck at all, glowplugs are brand new, and the wait light stays on for a good 15-20 sec.

Sometimes these diesel engines get air in the fuel injection system. This sometimes happens when changing the fuel filters or low on fuel at tank.Have the system bled and see if this clears up your rough idle. Good Luck PS:
