i have a chevy van g20 and need a transmission. My problem is i cannot figure out wich tranny i have.?

It is either the 4l60e or the 4l0e. How do figure out wich one it is?

easyiest way would be to find the tranismission code from decal which is most likely in glove box , its a approx 4''x6'' decal with letters and numbers in groups of 3 , You will have to consult a gm dealership to find out the code ID , other sugestion is to make a diagram of the oil pan and consult a parts manuel for filter kit application
