My power antenna just went out, and I want to disconnect the motor so it doesn't grind when trying to extend or retract itself. It's loud and annoying. I'm fine with the antenna extended all of the time. Please send me a note or something if you know how to make the motor stop running.

A few weeks ago my turn signal started going solid occasionally when I would flip it up or down. Sometimes it would blink, but eventually it would just give a solid light. I had to move it manually up and down to get the blinking effect.

Now, just a couple of days ago, the light won't turn on at all when I flip it up or down.

I'm wondering what might be the cause of this and if it's an easy fix or not? Also the cost to fix?

Oh, and FYI, the car is a 91 Pontiac 6000 series.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I just started hearing the moderately loud rattle, but what is puzzling me is that it seems to calm down on occassion, noticed while ideling. First thought it was just the power steering fluid low, it was not. Oil level fine. Water level fine, no overheating. No hesitation or miss. It is difficult to tell where it's from as the water pump and power steering and engine are all in the area of the noise. Also, it doesn't have a water pump whine that I'm familiar with.

I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima that wont run due to a transmission problem. AAMCO diagnosed the car and said it would cost $1995 to fix the car and it will be fixed in 2-3 days. They said the price may go up a little if they find something wrong. For that price I can go buy a used car.

I left the car with them. Now, after a week they are still repairing it and saying that the actual cost will be $2,700.

The car itself may be only worth that price. What can I do now? Can I refuse to pick up that car?

Please advice.

My boyfriend just installed a Cold Air Intake into his 2003 Mustang last night and now this morning the Check Engine Light came on.

Here is a link to a picture of how it's installed:

Everything is plugged in correctly as far as he knows.

Does anyone know what could cause this or how to fix it?

Thanks.

well i'm gonna get a new car soon for graduation and it's gonna be in about two months. so i need some guidance on cars. please keep in mind that this is my first time getting a new car. so i would like to kno which one is better, on gas insurance, etc. i really like the mitsubishi evo but it drinks up a lot of gas and expensive gas at that. but it's a 4 door. the only thing bad about it is it's a mitsubishi, and i've heard a lot of stories about their products breaking down a lot, and consistantly needing repairs. on the other hand is the scion tc by toyota, it's a sweet ride but it's a two door. so i'm kinda stuck about which car to get. i want a nice car that would last me a while. until i can afford to buy myself a car, because this one is a graduation present. so i seriously need some help to pick between the two. please lend me ur advice, suggestions, and expertise. thank you very much.

Hi, I have a chip on my windscreen. Autoglass tried to fix it but have said I need a new one as it would fail an MOT. My service is due next week, will they try to fit a new one and charge me even though I could get a new one on my car insurance?

I have recently bought a second hand car and the previous owner obviously smoked in the car. Besides air fresheners does anyone have any good ideas how to permanently remove the smoky taxi smell from my car.

I heard that if you can't get your car smoged the DMV will pay you to get rid of it. Is that true? If it is, where can I get more information.

I own a 1996 Pontiac Firebird, with the "measly" 3.8 V6 engine. I have to come up with $1200 to fix my car. This sucks butt!!!!!!!!

I have to have the following things done:

1. Two new O2 sensors (one on each bank)
2. New extensive tune-up (plugs, wires, etc.)
3. New serpentine belt
4. Transmission flush and new fluid
5. Oil & filter change
6. Computer reset
7. New EGR valve
And maybe one or two more things. I was told by my mechanic that the parts alone will cost apx. $800. The labor will be about $400. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks, dudes.

Yesterday a few times, when I applied the brakes, after a second I would hear this "clunk" noise and it felt like something under my feet was falling out. My car still stopped normally. It didn't happen every time I applied the brakes and it didn't happen any on my way to work this morning. Any idea what might be wrong and how much this is going to cost me?

I have an '80s Buick that comes with a digital fuel meter. Problem is, the number displayed on the DFM fluctuates by a great deal; when parked it reads 15, after 1 minute it reads 12, when in reverse it reads 22, when in D it reads 20, and so on. Even once it said E as empty and once I got to the gas station it read 12...

Please help as to how to fix this.

I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima with 107K miles. Its a good car, but it wont run due to a transmission problem.

AAMCO is quoting $2700 to rebuild the transmission with a 1 Year, 12K miles warranty.

Is it worth to go for the rebuild? Is AAMCO a ripoff?

I am concerned that AAMCO is not trying to charge $2700 for a $700 worth of work.

Please advice.

Hi, my battery on my tigra 1.6 1995 keeps going flat overnight. It is a brand new battery. I charge it fully, then overnight (without even using the car) it goes flat. I suspect that some component is taking charge when ignition is off. All the lights are off (& radio etc). The car will run with the terminals not connected so i dont think its the alternator. How can i check what is wrong? please help ...thanks

I am looking at a 1997 Honda Prelude with 80,000 miles. It is in excellent condition, 4-cylinder, 5-speed, and has other extras such as alloy wheels and premium sound. It's listed at $8900. Before I buy it, I am going to have my mechanic check it out. Does this sound like a good price to you, or could I talk the dealer down a little?
