My boyfriend just installed a Cold Air Intake into his 2003 Mustang last night and now this morning the Check Engine Light came on.

Here is a link to a picture of how it's installed:

Everything is plugged in correctly as far as he knows.

Does anyone know what could cause this or how to fix it?

Thanks.

It probably screwed up the mass airflow or absolute barometric pressure readings. Those things mess up the parameters the computer uses to control the engine and are mostly snake oil anyhow.

It has a cone inside the fender right? if it is an oiled filter yu have to be careful not to overoil it. you probably gunked up the mass air flow sensor yu can try checking that or if yu want to clean it use elctronic parts cleaner.

Scan the computer and see what the codes say...... it could be the air intake or something else....
