My power antenna just went out, and I want to disconnect the motor so it doesn't grind when trying to extend or retract itself. It's loud and annoying. I'm fine with the antenna extended all of the time. Please send me a note or something if you know how to make the motor stop running.

There is an electrical plug at the base of the antenna. On your car it is accessible behind the inner fender well panel behind and above the right front wheel.

CUT THE WIRE....duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just read some of the other answers.....

the fuse drives the radio & the antena......so no fuse in the antena means no radio..

the antena wire itself is thick & black...the motor wire is thin..(cos it only supplies a small amount of power to the motor..)

if the motor is easily accessable..you may be able to unplug the wires at the motor..you only need to dissconect one..

at the back of the radio there is a plug that connects all the wires from the radio to the loom.. the antena wire is probably not run through this plug....( it is seperate)..but the power for the radio & speaker wires are....

if you know what color wire it is..it easy to cut.. & reconnect later if you get the motor fixed..

Don E has the best answer so far .. Don't cut all the wires! snip the power wire only leave the others because one of the wires is your antenna wire. You'll have to keep that one connected to hear any stations. Get your mulimeter/test light and hook it to a teminal and turn the radio on/off to see which one powers the motor.

Remove the fuse to the radio. Now disconnect the power wire to the antenna. Then put the radio fuse back in to play the radio.

Look in the owners manual and it will tell you where the fuse box is located and which fuse to pull out.Dont be cutting any wires because you might want to repair it some time.
