I changed the batteries and was told it might need to be re-programmed. I took it to my local Ford dealer to be told it will cost me £75 ($140). Is there any way i can get it done cheaper or does it have to be done by a main dealer

I damaged my car this morning, it is a Nissan Altima 2003. I backed up into one of those concrete rings they put at gas stations so you won't hit the gas pump. I scraped and bent inwards about a foot and a half long and a foot wide bending in the metal. What should I do and how much would this cost to repair? It looks really bad. The damage is all on the side (drivers side. )

i appreciate all the advice ive been getting lately on my car. I am about to take it to my local service station in an hour to have this problem checked up on, but maybe someone else has had this same issue.

My cars acceleration (especially from stop to go) seems very jerky. It will surge then stop then surge then stop ,etc. It is a turbo so I'm not sure what to deduce from that fact. But anyway, it seems to happen the worst the colder it is. I hardly noticed it but for a few seconds earlier in the week when it was around 50 F, but the last few days its been a high of about 12F and I noticed it when I left work yesterday - it was pretty bad.
If I have drive nthe car for a while, turn it off, then restart it shortly, the problem isnt there (or if it is it is so slight I can barely notice it).

Does this seem like a transmission problem... or fuel filter clogged? Any ideas?

Thanks

o- sorry the car is mercedes 350SDL turbo diesel

the pedal goes half way down before i start to brake. the front chamber of my reservoir is empty, which i know means i have a leak and therefore i have no brakes working. but i still do brake which means that either front or back brakes is not working. i believe the back went out because the front chamber (also the smaller of the two chambers in the reservoir) is empty. can anyone tell me if im right or wrong on this?

Recently, my 94' Grand Am V6 3.1 has been having a starting problem and or it cranks over but sputters and dies. When it sets overnight it sometimes takes a few times for the engine to turn over. Once i get it started it runs fine until i shut it off and start it back up a few times, then begins to stall out. I have to pump the accelerator until it starts to idle smooth then its fine. If i don't pump the accelerator when this occurs, the engine will stall like its out of gas. Then it will turn over but die until i let it sit for awhile, then it will start and run fine. I have replaced the plugs and plug wires, battery, altenator is good. I was told it may be the crank sensor so when i tried to replace the one in the engine, it didnt match the 3.1 V6 94grand am engine replacement. The one in the car was significantly smaller than the required replacement which would never match up. When the code where ran at my local shop, it read no rpms with engine running. Any suggestions

I'll sometimes use it to slow down when theres a cop behind me and I don't want to slam on my brakes and make it obvious. Just wondering if it's ok to do.

Hello.

While at idle, (cold or hot), the engine RPMs drop and raise-sometimes it shuts off...Starts right up though... air sound is aperent but no "leaks"- of any kind.

While accelerating from a stop,- power come in pulses, (i had thought it was the transmission-torq converter)...

Once at freeway speeds it seems fine but it then starts to "hesitate" and it still shut off once- starts right up though...

So i had asked similar ?'s i now dont think it's my transmission, i think it may be a sensor, or somthing else???

Later on today I will "rent" the OBD1 and run a check/test on my truck... if i find the trouble i will try to replace it myself...as for the trans, i'm still gonna have the fluid/filter completely flushed.

Thanks for your time let me know what you may think the trouble is.> By the way, truck was babied by a grand father, never drove hard, has 104,635 miles, complete tune-up done about 4 monthsago, no leaks of any kind, no smoke, no overheat,
Nada.

My best friends Ford Courier is leaking gearbox oil into the transfer case. Can any one tell me if there is an overflow pipe that can be purchased. The pipe links the transfer case back to the gearbox and thus causes a constant flow back system. Toyota Landcruisers have a similar part available.
Thanks

My Toyota Matrix seems too bumpy ever since I put in the lowering springs. Well, it was somewhat bumpy before with the factory springs. If I get some new shocks will my car drive much smoother, or are most small cars naturally bumpy--unfortunately.

I brought a peugoet 406 1999 V6 and had it tested before I brought it. They found it had a noisy pump. The dealer "fixed" it. I've had a full service since (1 week after purchasing) and the high pressure hose needs replacing as it is leaking. 200 pounds just for the hose!!!
